welcome to seattlejourney.org

When a person becomes a believer in Jesus Christ as Savior; the process of discipleship needs to start. That is where a Journey group can help. We were not meant to live alone, rather we are meant to live in mutually accountable relationship with other disciples of Jesus. The goal of a Journey group is to see internal life transformation and reproduction of disciples while living in transparent community.

What is a Journey group?

A Journey group is a simple way for Christians to live in authentic, transparent and confidential community with a couple other Christians. This layout allows for growth through mutual encouragement, support and accountability in the Christian life. There is no curriculum or training required. The Bible is read in gender specific groups.

Each Journey group meets once per week for about an hour and allows you to develop spiritual disciplines of prayer and Bible reading while fulfilling the Great Commission (Matt 28) in the spirit of the Great Commandment (Matt 22).

What happens at a Journey group meeting?

1. Shared accountability.
2. Bible is read.
3. Pray for others.

Who should be in a Journey group?

We have only two recommended conditions for joining a Journey group:

1. An urgent desire for Jesus Christ.
2. Faithful commitment to the process.

Why is discipleship done in a group important?

Wholeness ~ Christians believe it is God’s desire is to liberate humanity from sin. Jesus is the only way to heal the whole person and restore relationship with God. Trusting relationships with other Christians helps to bring wholeness.

Truth ~ We believe we have to ask tough questions about God, life and the Spiritual Journey. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and acknowledge the mysteries found in Scripture. It is important to read the Word of God with others because you are not alone in your questions.

Prayer ~ We believe anyone can communicate with the Living God. Praying together helps us to carry each others struggles & concerns.

Community ~ We believe this life is intended to be lived in trusted relationships. We choose to live in genuine, loving and grace giving relationships. The Christian Journey was never meant to be done alone.

All Christians need mutual accountability and encouragement through prayer, reading of the Bible and accountability. This is an exciting way to Jump in to knowing more about Jesus Christ as you choose to follow him. To join a Journey group contact Jason.
